Ever since Godflesh broke up [good riddance] I’ve been a huge Jesu [Yeysu] fan. I got to see their first ever US performance and have bought all their CDs.

Well, they’ve got a new full-length coming out to follow their EP “Lifeline” that dropped yesterday. The unfortunate [or fortunate?] thing with torrent sites and rapidshare, etc is that you can simply Google any artist’s new CD and more than likely, you’ll come across some blog somewhere with a link to the album in 320 kbits.

That being said, I gave the new album a listen this morning and for once, I am not impressed. Broderick’s vocals seem too much like David Bowie for my taste. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Bowie, I just don’t like Bowie vocals over drone stoner rock. In combination with the vocals, the introduction to more upbeat electronic rhythms ruins it for me! Guess I’ll just stick to my Heartache EP and Silver.

Maybe the album will grow on me.
