While flipping through the Village Voice today I noticed that the Magic World Championships were going to be played in NYC (they actually started yesterday). The event is going on at the Javits Center and the orc filled necromancer slaughter runs from December 6th through the 9th.

Sadly I gave up playing Magic a long, long time ago and to be honest (while I liked it) I just generally sucked at the game. But some of these “pros” competing are honest to god millionaires because of their skills at these tournaments! I do wonder how many ladies Makihito Mikhara, the 2006 World Champ (pictured above) with his big black deck?
