Oh, Traci!

I’ve recently become slightly obsessed with Traci Lords. I added Cry Baby to my netflix queue, and then looked up the blond bombshell to re-familiarize myself, and I totally forgot she was the famous porn star who was in two films before she was 18 (which I then proceeded to search for and download). Anyhow, I also found these funny youtube videos of her: Married… With Children and the movie Nowhere.
This Married… With Children clip really makes me laugh. Last year I was going all the way up to the Columbia University Dental Clinic on a weekly basis to get major dental work done (4 wisdom teeth pulled, 2 root canals, various cavity fillings, etc.). After most of the major work was done and my teeth no longer ached, I got fed up and stopped going. Hovercraft would joke that when they asked me to open my mouth, the reaction would be similar to what Al Bundy got from his dentist. Not far from the truth.
I saw this movie in high school and it definitely kind of tripped me out. Probably one of the weirdest films I saw growing up. It definitely gave me a funny feeling inside. Something about Greg Araki films always make me feel annoyed yet somehow attracted to what’s going on in the film, and the subjects. Anyhow, this is probably my favorite Araki film. I still haven’t seen Totally Fucked Up, but I hear it’s so-so. I would later in life go to intern for the production company that produced and distributed Araki’s last film Mysterious Skin, which I thought was awful and turned off after 30 minutes.

Patrick I hate you. Not only did I have to clean up your post but you bashed one of my favorite movies of the past decade after seeing only 30 minutes of it. I’m a pretty huge Araki fan and Mysterious Skin is head and shoulders his masterpiece.
You’re clearly a fan of his style so you really should watch the movie in full. I honestly don’t even know what happens in the first 30 minutes that could have turned you off. I thought it was a pretty even movie throughout.

“Traci I Love You,” got me through many a lonely night.
Respect.

I though she did about 40 or 50 movies while she was underage and only 1 over the age of 18. The only one she personally owned the rights to. Her cover was also coincidently blown around the time of it’s release and I think it’s kinda obvious she blew the whistle on herself to rake in all the profits from the now only movie you could legally buy with her naked.

I purposely leave my posts all fucked up, cause I know MIkhail will go in and edit them anyways, and I know he loves to do it.
And I could be wrong about how many films Traci Lords made before she was 18, I thought it was Make Me Hot and Talk Dirty to Me. We’ll have to check wiki again.
But, I will give Mysterious Skin another try, since Mikhail has credulous film tastes, as well as other interests in cool stuff.
But that scene from Nowhere with Traci Lords with a retainer… boooooner!
Just sayin.
