Not recently enough to pass judgment on it, which is why I didn’t bother mentioning it. I think the last time I saw it was on Comedy Central while I was still in high school. I definitely remember there being funny parts, but it really isn’t in the same league as the aforementioned flicks.
I own it, and I do like it very much. Steve Buscemi is wicked awesome in that. But I dunno, the dialogue in Bill and Ted is uncomparable. Keanu’s best film.
Airheads came out when we were a lot older so you couldn’t have the romanticized childhood aspect of it associated with Bill & Ted’s an Wayne’s World. I really do think if you can look at it outside of the pedestal we tend to put the other two on because of when we saw them it’s really in the same league.
Did you just put that last movie on there to try to incite angry comments?
The Bill and Ted movies will be genuinely great movies forever. Airheads had more than a few moments, especially when they sang Reagan Youth’s hit song at the end. Did Reagan Youth’s surviving members ever get any profit from that?
Detroit Rock City is a genuinely good rocker comedy. I don’t think it’s as good as the other three but I felt something that came out closer to this decade should be up there and Detroit Rock City was the most worthy choice. But I also think the main reason I don’t think it’s Detroit Rock City is on par with the other three is how old I was when it came out as opposed to the others. I… We all have this childhood romanticized view of Bill & Ted’s, Wayne’s World & even Airheads (granted to a much lesser extent). I was 20 or 21 when Detroit Rock City came out. But who’s to say If any of us would have felt just as strongly about Wayne’s World were we 21 rather than 12 or 13 when it first came out? I was just trying to as objective as possible and felt those 4 were the best of their kinds across the past few decades.
The thing I was hoping for most by their inclusion on the list was that those who hadn’t seen either Airheads or Detroit Rock City would at least now feel compelled to Netflix them.
This should really be about Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure vs. Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, and Waynes World vs. Waynes World 2.
Or any combination of those 4 movies.
I thought Detroit Rock City was really funny, and I thought Airheads was ok, best part of that movie was Chris Farley as a cop, and the cottage cheese in a football helmet.

Bill and Ted’s, although I admit it’s a questionable triumph over the cultural impact of Wayne’s World. Both movies had really enjoyable sequels too!

Bill & Ted FOREVER! First time in my life I ever heard the word ‘bogus’ and said used in such a cool way

Not to buck the trend because I do feel Bill & Ted’s and Wayne’s World are both beyond awesome but when was the last time any of you saw Airheads?
