Digging For Fire Vol. 10: The Breeders - Head To Toe 10-Inch EP
I endured a sunburn to see The Breeders play a free show earlier this evening, and in honor of that my next Digging For Fire installment goes out to them! Kim & Kelly Deal may be rocking a Midwestern soccer mom meets liberal arts school professor look these days, but their voices are just as sweet 15 years after Last Splash came out. Suprisingly though they played a very Last Splash heavy set. New album and all the Breeders still know what their fans want and gave it to us in spades!
I hope Kim Deal and The Breeders need no introductions, but if they do to any of you I think you may be better off heading here first. Since The Breeders and their albums can hardly be considered obscure and are pretty easy to track down, i’ve decided to post one of their more obscure 10-inch EPs, 1994’s Head To Toe. If you’ve had a hankering for some vintage Breeders, but something you may not have heard then this will be just the thing. My particulair favorite is their cover of Sebadoh’s “Fuck you J. Mascis” track, The Freed Pig!
