Ty Joins the Club…
Monday, July 28th, 2008Well Ty did it. He joined the same club Mike Jones did a few months back. The “job stoppers” and “dirt bag” club.
This is Ty’s first tattoo. I think everyone at Mishka has a tattoo, and we all love ink, I just dont support whoever the artist was giving a 19 y/o his first tattoo on his hand. It just not, um, cool..
I dunno, I am def not that one to judge, and at least it looks good! Check Ty out at the Pop-Up Shop if you want to see. At least now he can from the hand up his arms, when most of us go the other way.

Mishka Custom Shop Now Open!
Sunday, July 27th, 2008We’re excited to introduce an innovative new feature on our website that allows fans of the brand to individually design their own apparel.
By visiting The Custom Shop, buyers can personalize some of their favorite Mishka shirts, ranging from the color of the shirt and graphic, down to the label which will bear the name of the designer. With just the color variations alone, there are over 140 unique combinations that can be achieved.
Starting with the iconic Death Adders Inc. shirt, one new style will be launched on a monthly basis, making the individually designed apparel even more limited.
We’ve always prided ourselves on following the beat of a different drummer, and with this new program we’re encouraging our customers and fans to inject their own personal touch into our designs. It will cost $39.99 per custom shirt and approximately 3-4 weeks for delivery stateside, 4-6 weeks for international orders!
The Custom Shop runs separately from our normal Webstore. You will need to create a new account for it and items stored in your shopping cart from our Webstore will not transfer over into the custom shop. Buyers will have to make two separate purchases if buying something from the custom shop and our Webstore. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Digging For Fire Vol. 12: Lubricated Goat – Paddock of Love
Saturday, July 26th, 2008Now if we were all to always to judge an album by it’s cover we’d all miss out on some great music. Take Lubricated Goat’s Paddock of Love… on first glance you’d probably think this has got to be some god awful bar rock band from Long Island’s self produced LP. Or maybe, just maybe you go out on a limb and guess they’re some shitty Psychobilly band in the vein of the Meteors. Thankfully none of the above is true!
Lubricated Goat, are… I don’t know semi-obscure I guess? They’re from Australia (where all good things seem to come from) put out three great records on Amphetamine Reptile records in the late 80s-early 90s, all of which are unfortunately out of print! Now the reason I love Lubricated Goat so much is that they so seamlessly combine the influences of 3 very different yet very similar bands all of whom I love. The free flowing noise assault of Scratch Acid/Jesus Lizard Scratch, mixed with primal sludgy rock of Pussy Galore and just topped of with a healthy heaping of The Birthday Party’s all-around weirdness. If I had to make a perfect Frankenstein with only 3 bands, these would have been the three I’d choose. Thankfully though Lubricated Goat already exists so I don’t ever have to wonder “what if…”! I highly recommend you check this album and band out even if you’re just a casual fan of any of the bands mentioned above!
Lubricated Goat has two other fantastic albums, Plays the Devil’s Music & Psychedelicatessen . However Paddock of Love is just my personal favorite and perfectly balances the rawness of their debut with some of the more (albeit little) commercial sensibilities they introduced on their final album!
Lubricated Goat – Paddock of Love
As an added bonus here is footage of Lubricated Goat preforming In the Raw on Australian TV’s Blah Blah Blah completely naked.
Man, I just know Lubricated Goat was the type of band that probably never played a bad show in their life! Too bad I was never able to see one!
