Krallice!
So, as you have probably guessed, I’m a big fan of Black Metal. Only recently have I warmed up to a few non-Norwegian bands of this genre. I used to think that any Black Metal band that wasn’t in Norway or Sweden or some other cold and depressing landscape was just fake. Like an essential ingredient was missing in the recipe for cranial vibrating blast beats and over distorted vocals.
Krallice is both a NYC based Black Metal band who is not only really good, but they’re also opening for Book of Black Earth, which is T.J. from Actual Pain’s band. The show’s on October 8th at the Knitting Factory in NYC. I’m going and I hope to be on the guest list… *cough cough*. I’ll be most likely wearing the Actual Pain New Era as well!
Oh and speaking of Metal. On September 13th, “Metal” Thom is throwing the 2nd Annual METAL RACE! If the first year’s points race wasn’t enough, this year it’s going to be filled with even more metal mayhem!

Huh - Krallice is pretty tasty! Slightly Burzum, which is good. the vocals remind me of some one else but i can’t remember who. While hunting down the supposed re-release (with upside-down cross gatefold digipak) of Behemoth’s last album I came across Century Media distribution. They have an amazing selection of bands and decent prices. One that they did a spotlight on was Poisonblack https://www.cmdistro.com/search.aspx?search=POISONBLACK who’s pretty damn good - enough so for me to fork out some coin for their album. Next month is an all-store sale!

Where’d you [assuming My Pal the Crook edited the image] find the big logo? I hate their logo. Looks like a tribal tramp stamp…

It’s this magical tool called “Google”

More post’s like this and NYC is going to make metal another trend like road bikes.

It’s almost scary you think John Prolly has that kind of reach or power.

Road bikes aren’t trendy. Yet. People ride them as transportation and competition. Now, I’m assuming you meant “fixed gears” or “track bikes”… that’s another story. If that is what you meant, then they aren’t that trendy, or you would have called them by their proper name.
I don’t have that kind of power. But Metal does!

But still, norway, finland and sweden are still the only places where true black metal has come from.

True as in bands like Gorgoroth? You do know that Gaahl is the most sought-after runway coach for Norwegian fashion designers? Pretty funny. Sure, he’s done some sick shit in his day, but coaching runway models?
Now Varg Vikernes is another story…

More like true as in bands like Dark Throne and Mayhem, true norweignen black metal. Even the music that Varg created while in jail still is some of the darkest black metal

The fucking keyboard-only albums? That’s what he made in prison. Truly some of the truest and evilest use of the casio yet.
