“Ever Ready Horton in Buried Treasure”, the first adult animation.

This dirty silent cartoon was made in either 1928 or 29 as a collaboration between Fleischer, Terry and Mutt and Jeff Studios. The first studio showed the last frame to the next studio and they did the same with the third. They would work on the film in their off hours and had to send the film to Cuba for processing. Supposedly it was shown at a party honoring Winsor McKay.

This is pretty gd amazing, especially when viewed in context. Something about the beckoning donkey tail is just. so. obscene.

I know it has nothing to do with anything and I’m being 12 but I can’t help but giggle at the fact that THIS video is exactly 4:20 minutes long.
