New York Times To the Rescue!

Toilet Cobra has this uncanny knack of writing about shows and really making you feel like you were there even if you weren’t. I love how he almost never bothers to really review the music or bands, but more so the atmosphere and people in the crowd which in truth is what we all go to shows to experience. He did however bail out before Fucked Up could go on, but thankfully the New York Times comes to the rescue for any of you who were curious on how the last hour or so of the night played out!
New York Times: Chords of Fame? These Bands Never Heard of Them
I wonder how long the Market Hotel is going to be open after this kind of press? Oh and thanks to Rob for directing me to the article.

Did you check out the pix at Brooklyn Vegan?

During “Crusades,” power to the bass and other instruments cut out – which led to a few a capella numbers in between to kill time (one or two of the covers that kept getting shouted out?). When the band came back, the set closed out strong around 1am – to a crowd that seemed mostly ready to get out and wake up for their first Obama A.D. commute
direct quote from BV comments:
“power went out because some idiot fucking New York Times photographer stepped on a power strip and broke it.”

Thanks for the kind words, Crookers.
The reason I write like I do is because music journalism is useless and boring. Writing about is for dweebs.
It’s been said before but trying to write about music is like trying to describe what colors are like to blind people. Nothing you can say or write can convey this supremely absract thing that exists.
I wish you hadn’t changed “meeting of the mimes” to “meeting of the minds.” I like the idea of Mike Jones and I as mimes having a little meeting. A wee little meeting.

Dude we had no clue if that was a typo or not, it made no sense. But I did ask Mike Jones before changing it and we both were dumbfounded at what you were trying to say if that was intentional. Feel free to change it back

haha, could totally picture TC and MJ sitting in a car in awkward silence and then expressing to each other in total silence how they would luge on the burnt carnage.
