Et Je Vous Tuerai

picture-15

I just hyperventilated my way through Taken. The movie ignores any kind of moral examination and instead chooses to focus on Liam Neeson stabbing, shooting, punching, choking, jumping, torturing, and speaking in a rather serious manner. In his fifties, Neeson is a nice remedy to all the wrestlers, male models, and assclowns starring in action flicks nowadays, and is 100 percent believeable as a father who will stop at nothing to save his daughter—making Jack Bauer look like a boyscout the whole time. It’s a by-the-numbers thriller, but Neeson saves it from mundaneness and delivers a truly hypnotic performance. Directed by Pierre Morel with Luc Besson whispering in his ear. Go see it or I will find you, and I will kill you.

Dude, by some strange coincidence, we may have been watching this movie at exactly the same time. Super weird seeing you post this just now.

My roommate bought a bootleg of this today (it was the best quality bootleg I’ve ever watched actually. Better quality than my Netflix Watch Now.) My roommate, his friend and I sat mesmerized for the entire movie, never losing site that it was horribly written and absolutely ridiculous, but captivated by Liam Neeson’s focus on fucking people’s shit up.

The best part was when he licks off the shot in dude’s wife’s arm. RUTHLESS!

Also, what was up with borrowing lines from other movies? “It was business, never personal” , etc…??

Dude bring me this movie tomorrow! From the trailers it looked like to could be a really campy action movie. But then it got all these horrible reviews and I figured that it was one of those movies where all the best moments were in the trailer. Like not even good poorly written to be campy.

it’s pretty bad – but i def. enjoyed it.
Shooting dude’s wife’s arm was the best – no hesitation at all.

Flicking the bullets he took out of the gun into the dude’s face AND THEN shooting dude’s wife in the arm = Killer Combo!
