As promised, here is the accompanying mix I made to my Vinyl Archeology article for the Fader. The mix contains an hour of music taken from the tracks or bands mentioned in the article, some I had to cut for space, and some actual Russian bands for good measure.

Although I’m a SoCal raised ‘Rican, so I couldn’t be any less Russian, I’ve always enjoyed the Evil Empire and the art/propaganda it created. In a time where the “bad guys” are hard to pinpoint, I long for the Cold War vibe of my youth.
