A Mighty Target Boner

Is anybody else feelin’ Mighty Muggs? Hasbro’s been putting out a pretty fresh dream team of Star Wars characters in Mugg form including Darth Revan, the Wampa, and Grand Moff Tarkin; all affordable and adorable. I used to have a serious Star Wars collecting problem, but I got burnt out after Episode I and the only shit I’ve consistently collected in the past decade has been the Unleashed line and whatever new R2′s come out. For a jaded SW-head, the Muggs have been a breath of fresh air. Today I went into Target with the intention of getting some new boxers and a toilet brush for my new apartment, and I walked out with their exclusive Bossk Mighty Mugg. I’ve got that ol’ collecting itch right now and will be heading back tomorrow to pick up their exclusive Biggs and Teebo (there was only one Biggs left – fingers crossed).
Hasbro, producer of Muggs, also has the licenses to Indiana Jones, Marvel, Tranformers, and G.I. Joe. They also sell blank ones, perfect for customizing and stuntin’ on the MuggLab site. EaseDaMan Mighty Mugg?

snowtrooper muggs ownz. These are apparently made of all post-consumer recycled whatever, too, btw. A buddy of mine went to the Lucas Arts party at last year’s SDCon and they were apparently handing the Darth Vader Muggs out like they were, um, free. Or something.
I love Target. I buy DVDs and Hot Wheels there.

@Hate: Hells yeah. I just moved across town, closer to the Target and I’m there every other gods damn day.
Hey, Teen Wolf/Teen Wolf 2 DVD for 5 bucks, how are you?
On the Joe tip, the Storm Shadow Mugg is unreal.

I listen to too many Star Wars podcasts. The podcasts are not into these. Me neither.
Shoddy attempt at artsy vinyl.

I’m not really into vinyl toys like many, but I really want to get the Mola Ram mighty mugg I saw on the webs. I’ll give it little bloody hearts to keep it happy.

There are two titans of product licensing that have become so tired:
1. KISS
2. Star Wars
and The Simpsons is soon to become #3!
Stop giving Lucas and Gene Simmons your money!

Ive got Galactus and Captain America, they’re cool and not too expensive. Target had them on sale a few months ago for 8.99 ea.

I am specifially not feeling the mighty mugg. i tried to get into these bad boys because i love vinyl toys but they just seem to lack that special quality that allows you to collect them and feel like its something important and not just a toy purchased at target. but….. i do always wana give me money to george lucas. it might be brainwashing.

My take is that these can be cool as star wars toys without having to be cool as vinyl toys. These things took a real beating last year on teh boardz…it’s just a standard ‘platform toy’ which so many of the toy kids hate…but! As a guy who roams Target, BEGGING for something to jump off the shelf and make me buy it, this fits the bill.
I also have a shitload of Re-Ment that I don’t know what to do with and about a billion individually licensed Star Wars legos. So yah…I think toys can be just toys sometimes. You’re buying the high…not the drug. :)

I agree that the starwars legos are bomb, i just feel like ther are more of a bastardization of the kid robot munny. its an unoriginal form. though….i cant deny the excellence of starwars characters.
