Review: Elder – S/T
Elder - S/T (2009) [Meteor City] // Grade: B-
I have to give D.A.R.T. riders Prolly and Luke Stiles credit for cluing me in about Elder’s debut release earlier this year. These guys REALLY worship at the alter that is Sleep & Electric Wizard! So If you’re looking for some innovation or something different when it comes to your Stoner Metal you should really go elsewhere. But if your heart yearns for some solid and traditional plodding and pummeling blues based Sludgey Stoner jams then you’ve come to the right place. A really impressive if not all that creative debut… I’m really looking forward to hearing where these guys go from here.

Four minutes and thirty seconds into the 4th track when he says “Fuck” I am laughing. Other than that, this is totally right on.

i know you hear some good music now and then thats got a good heavy tone, but man come one, saying that these guys worship sleep and Electric wizard is ubsurd, look further into music, it goes back further man, There is a race of stoner bands that devour the earth, they dont worship eachother

They sound like Sleep and Electric Wizard, A LOT like Sleep and Electric Wizard. You want me to state the obvious also that they sound like Sabbath? There i’ve said it
