Review: Iron Age – The Sleeping Eye

Iron AgeThe Sleeping Eye (2009) [Tee Pee] // Grade: A-

This a monolith of an album. One part Hardcore, one part Thrash, one part Powerviolence and one part Stoner Metal yet entirely it’s own beast. The Sleeping Eye vaults Iron Age into another stratosphere from their already impressive debut a couple of years ago. Punishing, unforgiving and oh so rewarding! This is the type of Hardcore record for those of you whose interest in the genre may have waned. Seeped in tradition yet a wholly unconventional approach to making Hardcore, Iron Age is of a handful of bands really taking Hardcore to heights it hasn’t seen a long time. Available now at shows and on Vinyl, look for a wider release later this summer by Tee Pee. But seriously if you can go see this band live and get this album then, I can’t fucking wait to see them later this week. Get it below at Insound.
