I’m Sangin’ at Trophy Tonight Ya’ll

back cover2

So tonight Im singing in one of my bands I tentatively called Betty Black. There a re a few well loved covers and a lot of originals done in a style that conjures up some of my Texas roots and at moments might remind you of going to prom in the 50′s in a David Lynch film set in the dusty Southwest with sad slide guitars and some eerie synth for a little Bladerunner soundtrack 80′s style modernism. If that sounds confusing, come on over to Trophy, just steps from the Mishka store, and have a listen!

Trophy doesn’t usually have live bands but when my friend, and yours, Farika, asked me to play of course I said yes.

Help me gear up this Summer as I play my way thru NYC and land on my first self released EP for Betty Black this Aug 2nd called ‘Slow Dance’ at Le Poissant Rouge.

This guy Andrew Wendel who does work for DC Comics drew and presented this to me last night at another Betty Black show. I had only met him once before so i don’t know how he captured this sentiment, but it made me feel special. I’d love to have a butler like Lurch!
