Choice Is Yours Vol. 32

stankonia
Outkast – Stankonia (2000)

Vs.

kida
Radiohead – Kid A (2000)

The Game is simple… if only one could exist which would it be?  What’s more important… personal relevance, cultural significance, or simply being the better album all other things aside? Choice is yours…

  1. Lego Says:

    Kid A no contest.

  2. MZA Says:

This might be a little harder if it is Kid A vs. Aquemini, but Kid A takes this one for sure.

  3. Dr. No Says:

    Kid A!

  4. ElGalloGigante Says:

    Ditto @ MZA

Both of these artists have enough monster albums to okay the axe’n of one, but Stankonia happens to be the one that I’d axe in OutKast’s catalogue. Plus Kid A was more of a soundtrack to my first year in college (99-00) while Stankonia represented more of what I left behind after my senior year in high school (One-Nine-Nine-Nine).

Although the opening flow in B.O.B. is murderous. I still play it, then skip along once the chorus kicks in.

    my head just exploded.

Ahhhhhhhhh FUCK I hate to dismiss either of these, they are fantastic records by fantastic artists. But after much debate, I think I have to say I’d choose to keep Kid A.

Word life to MZA on the aquemini tip. If it was Aquemini, though, you’d have to pit it against OK Computer……I think I just have to go with Kid A on this one because it’s got three of my five favorite Radiohead songs of all time on it (“Everything In Its Right Place,” “National Anthem” and “Idioteque.”)

I can’t even justify my opnion, and I feel like tomorrow if you asked me I might keep Stankonia. This is by far the hardest CiY I’ve seen yet. FUCK YOU I LOVE YOU MY BRAIN IS MELTING ONTO MY KEYBOARD AAAHHHH AHRHHHABRAAAAINNS!!!!!

  6. Hateball Says:

BOB is without question one of our generation’s perfect singles. And I think that Stank took the hip hop skit to a whole new place (you feel me? Ifeeelya) which earns it a spot at the top, but, well, Kid A represents a pretty huge sonic shift for everybody. Period.

For the world, Kid A for sure, but for me personally, there was a time where I listened to nothing but Stankonia, The Art of Storytelling, and Blackout nonstop, so I’ll have to give it to Outkast.

  7. Rapist Wit Says:

Outkast no doubt. Kid A is way overrated, National Anthem and Idioteque the only great songs on that album everything else was just filler. Every song works on Stankonia. The best new Radiohead album is Hail to the Thief.

  8. smoke some Says:

    outkast for sure

  9. SAGEfromFADS Says:
