Ancient Dome – Human Key (2009) [Punishment 18 Records] // Grade: F

One look at Ancient Dome’s Myspace will give you a taste of what their music sounds like. Underdeveloped garbage. In fact, Human Key’s production quality is so shitty and the music sounds so rushed, I’m still convinced this is a demo.

Granted Human Key is better than most Italian Black, Death and even Power metal bands, it is still eons away from achieving the level of technical procurement as say, NECRODEATH! The main problem is, 45 minutes of Thrash has to be engaging and it just plays like they’re trying too hard to be even more aggressive than they’re capable of.

Some people are hailing this album as a new benchmark in Thrash. If that’s the case, I’m concerned…

Luxury yachts offer pirate hunting cruises

Luxury ocean liners in Russia are offering pirate hunting cruises aboard armed private yachts off the Somali coast.

Wealthy punters pay £3,500 per day to patrol the most dangerous waters in the world hoping to be attacked by raiders. When attacked, they retaliate with grenade launchers, machine guns and rocket launchers, reports Austrian business paper Wirtschaftsblatt.

Passengers, who can pay an extra £5 a day for an AK-47 machine gun and £7 for 100 rounds of ammo, are also protected by a squad of ex special forces troops.

The yachts travel from Djibouti in Somalia to Mombasa in Kenya. The ships deliberately cruise close to the coast at a speed of just five nautical miles in an attempt to attract the interest of pirates.

“They are worse than the pirates,” said Russian yachtsman Vladimir Mironov. “At least the pirates have the decency to take hostages, these people are just paying to commit murder,” he continued.

SATURN

Some believe the ‘Black Sun’ to be essential in understanding the roots of modern society’s religions, traditions and practices.

I came across a PDF of Stephen Flowers book Fire & Ice on Jordan Maxwell’s website. The book reveals the secret practices and philosophies of The FS. It’s a VERY fascinating and engaging read. Flowers doesn’t get overly analytical and you’ll find yourself reading 50 pages before you know it.

Though way more intricate to explain in full detail in a blogpost, the Luciferian theology of the FS revolves around the principle that Lucifer is the “Light Bearer of Mankind,” who manifests itself through the planet Saturn; as a guardian to an elevated plane of existence. One of the their most prominent tenets being, “From Darkness comes Light.” Commonly mistaken as synonymous with one another, Luciferianism has absolutely nothing to do with Satanism.

Spock’s physical similarity to GOTOS gets more interesting when you go over some of the characteristics of the Saturn Archetype, including: PRACTICAL, CAUTIOUS, RESPONSIBLE, and HEARTLESS. Was Roddenberry attempting to subliminally ingrain our consciousness with Saturnalian propaganda? Or was he simply a clever writer who thought the elements made for compelling sci-fi fantasy?

Today was a downer but I’ll always fondly remember Michael Jackson’s contribution to video games, namely Moonwalker. Who today has the pull to star in a wacked out child-saving adventure like this? I wish Bubbles the Chimp would turn me into a giant Michael-like robot so I could fight crime.

Sky Saxon was the leader of the incredible garage band, the Seeds and an important guy in rock and roll music. He died today, June 25th 2009, joining MJ and Farrah Fawcett.

For some reason, every time I realize, say, or hear that something is coming out on flesh vinyl, it sort of grosses me out. I mean, on the one hand, it grosses me out in the good way, and on the other, it jus feels wrong (grossing me out in the bad way).

Flesh vinyl. Vinyl that looks like flesh. Flesh-colored vinyl. I dunno.

That all said, I was unsure about how the KillerJ colorway of Elegab‘s awesome Shuttlegon was going to turn out. BUT! I knew I just had to have a Shuttlegon in all his awesome dorkbot goodness, and this was the one that I could gain the privilege to buy, so triggers were pulled and moneys were spent.

I. Am. So. Happy.

My good friend got me into kaiju about a year ago, and I subsequently share his strange affinity for pink toys. It just seems to work. Pink on flesh (in more ways than one…zing!) works even better than I could have imagined!!

The sculpt, too, is so unique and right-up-my-alley. All the hallmarks of a good toy are there: scarydumb face, bulky jetpack junk body, superweird claw arm…check, check, and check. While I’m not sure if I’m going to join the hype machine and go completist on Shuttlegons any time soon, this guy is an awesome addition to my modest collection.
