The Dead Weather – Treat Me Like Your Mother

…That is unless you’re Jonathan Glazer. Before you dismiss his latest MV offering (fuck that whole “short film” title they’re spinning it as) for The Dead Weather as some snoozefest that goes nowhere, understand that one of the most steadfast bits of criteria for Music Videos (per the label) is that GUNS are an absolute NO NO. This isn’t a video that just any director (or band for that matter) can pitch to the label:

“Wearing sweet leather jackets, Jack and Alison walk toward each other just outside some suburban wasteland and fire semi-automatic rifles at one another then walk away…”

It’s refreshing to see a video that isn’t hyper edited with a bunch of lights, ironic special FX and children’s puppets. Of course, Jack White has such a great swagger to him that you can just shoot him sitting on the couch and the video would be compelling.

Glazer’s been here for years.
