Book Find: Cycle of the Werewolf

cycle1

cycle2

cycle3

[Edit: OK. So it's not as much of a find as I thought it was. It's a first edition c. 1985 that I found sitting naked on a shelf at Barnes and Noble, yes, but they are apparently a dime a dozen. Still, it's an amazing story, by an amazing author, and illustrated by a true amazing great. So yeah.]

(shape shift) Nose to the wind
(shape shift) Feeling I’ve been
(move swift) All senses clean
(earth’s gift) Back to the meaning, Back to the meaning of…Life
(guitar solo)
I feel a change
Back to a better day
(shape shift)
Hair stands on the back of my neck
(shape shift)
In wildness is the preservation of the world

So seek the wolf in thyself

(PS: Congratulations to friends of Hateball and friends of Mishka, Flying Coffin for being awesome as fuck.)

Did you ever see Silver Bullet?

  2. Sealed In Skin Says:

I loooooooved this book as a kid. I would always go over to my cousins house and ask him if I could look at “the werewolf book”. Those illustrations were fucking amazing. Also Silver Bullet was Corey Haim’s best work behind Lost Boys and License to Drive.

  3. Cornbluth Says:

Crook…I was just about to ask the same thing and you beat me to it.

  4. Hateball Says:

I saw it a long time ago….definitely need to check it out again. It’s an adaptation of this, with the screenplay by the author himself. I am a bleeding-heart Stephen King fan, so don’t be surprised if you see more of this shit pop up. Friday!

My fucking 4th grade (4TH GRADE!!) teacher read this to us and let us pass it around and look at the fuckin’ dope illustrations. He made sure we all agreed that we wouldn’t get all sensitive about language and scary situations and would read a chapter every day unless we acted up and then we’d have to do some stupid ass busywork type shit. He’s also the guy who decided it was a great idea to have a “Cheeseburger in Paradise” party and made us write “how-to” papers on our favorite hamburgers. Fuck Jimmy Buffett but it’s pretty sweet to be horsing around and eating hamburgers in front of the windows of all the kids stuck indoors learning shit. Dude was a fuckin’ hero…
