Today Was a Good Day
A couple weeks back Nike SB dropped a promo video for P-Rod’s third signature shoe and a couple days ago the extended version was released. This commercial is the magnum opus of advertisement dollars coming correct. Skateboarding could be described as having one of the hardest to reach and most discriminating demographics of consumers imaginable in which many companies have tried to reach and failed miserably.
This short however is chalk full of amazing skateboarding (redic. switch tre flip), cinematography, music direction and a grip of cameos including Kobe, Cube, Koston, Beasley and Lance to name a few. Nike gets it right this time. The Extended version is seen below:

oh i get it…its ironic that ice cube runs over his skateboard, cause its originally his song and the video is inspired by the original video, and then his good day kind of turned bad cause he ran over a skateboard, but the kid walked away so really its his bad day and Ice cube is relatively still having a good day

but he’s still having a good day cause he gave ice cube “the nod”, as in, “it’s cool, i don’t care you broke my skate cause really, maybe, this is really your day cause it’s really your hood, and after all, this is your song, and i’m just stoked to see you at the end of (my) day, so i’m just gonna carry on with my broken skate that you cracked and tell myself “today was a good day” to, because i crossed your path (even though you broke my skate!) .. and because nike is direct depositing mad money to my account.” … fuck man, i had a good day, but not THAT good of a good day. skateboarding is kewl.
