Мишка Presents Keep Watch Vol. XII: Rusko!
While still on his American tour, Rusko – one of our favorite UK Dubstep practitioners has come through for us with Keep Watch XII. Incorporating live tracks from his current tour, Rusko’s unique mix of dark yet upbeat production fits the keep watch series perfectly and we’re honored to bring you Keep Watch XII – Rusko. Peep his upcoming dates on his Myspace.
Rusko was born in Leeds to a musical family. Whether it be his family’s pianos, guitars, banjos and saxophones…or the heavy reggae and dub sound systems of later years in Leeds, music has always been an integral part of Rusko’s life. After graduating from Leeds university with a degree in musical performance, Rusko discovered the world of Dubstep through Sub Dub, Rusko connected with the sound and moved down to London to further explore his passion. Collabs with the likes of Diplo, Wiley and remixes for A-Trak & Adele, Rusko is one to keep an eye on.

Rusko is one of the illest in da biz. Dubstep at its finest!!! I like the front and back cover art, too. Appears to be very apocalyptic with interesting Russian style fonts.

Hi there
As someone who is based in England and has been listening to dubstep for the last 2 years, I have to say that Rusko’s “Sound” is very tired. Which sounds like a really up myself thing to say. Rusko has been some bloody unbelievable tracks; Cockney Thug, Pro Nails remix, Bread get bun, Jahova, Hammertime. But he does produce an awful lot of monotony; after a while all his drops sound exactly the same. Caspa on the other has really mixed things up. HIs latest single with MC Dynamite is proof that he’s a lot more aware of the need to keep it fresh. His softer tunes, I.e. Black and blue remix (my favourite), Moments in love remix and I remember remix are soulful and emotionally charged – something Rusko has failed to do as of yet. ON ANOTHER SIDE NOTE. From England I’m making a documentary about the spread of dubstep to/throughout America, any info, websites, people who wanna talk to me would be really appreciated. My address is camern_vice@yahoo.com
cheers
