We Were Once A Fairytale
Just after Spike Jonze confirmed for me (and Oh Mars) that he could do no wrong for the third time in feature length format I find this gem of a short early this morning entitled “We Were Once a Fairytale”.
It stars a hilariously faded Kanye West rolling through the club and alienating just about every person in his path further adding to the Kanye conundrum of misguided, misunderstood, tortured pop artist OR, a brilliant performance, publicity junkie. Who knows? I don’t even want to know… all I know is that seeing anyone that drunk is hilarious and if it just so happens to be a zany superstar with self confidence issues being filmed by one of the best independent film makers around, well then, I think we’ve got something special.

The first part of this gave me an uncomfortable level of anxiety. Then everything after the rose petal vomiting scene was actually pretty moving, which I didn’t think would happen at all. Glad he got the poison out, and amazing that he was selfish again, made another move to make himself the priority, and on this one, Kanye DID let HIM finish.

Kanye is that kid with ADHD that we all still hang around with even to this day. Yeah he can be annoying as fuck sometimes but the shit that comes out of his mouth that makes you go DAAAAAAMN is worth it sometimes. At least you know you’ll never be bored.
