Trailer Round-Up: Kick-Ass, Clash of the Titans, Slammin’ Salmon
Here’s the first trailer for Matthew Vaughan’s adaptation of the Mike Millar’s comic book series Kick-Ass. I’ve never read the comics, but apparently they’re extremely violent and feature children committing the violence. I think that’s awesome. This trailer is just goofy. They’re going to have to put out a red band trailer STAT!
Let the Titans hit the floor, let the Titans hit the floor… I’m all for humans vs. monsters movies, but the original lo-fi Clash of the Titans holds up, no need for this garbage. Worst tag line ever: Titans will clash. Kill yourself.
From Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe that brought us Super Troopers and some throw-aways, comes Slammin’ Salmon. The trailer features three instances of someone throwing up, two instances of Michael Clarke Duncan punching ribs, one poop joke, and zero bits that made me laugh. A-Ha! A black woman calls Duncan “chocolate!” That’s just great writing!

Everytime I see some dude jumping across the screen in “This Year’s Summer Blockbuster” I keep thinking of Cliffhanger.
