The Unbreakable Pint Glass

Just in time for the weekend the UK announces that it will be trying out new pint sleeve materials throughout its pubs and bars in order to try and reduce some of the injuries caused by the nearly 87,000 glass attacks recorded annually.
“Violent incidents involving glasses and bottles cost an estimated $158 million in health, police and court costs each year.”
Although Liam Sharratt (above), 27, who was hit in the face with a glass while out drinking with friends in a Manchester bar in November 2007 will find this new development comforting I somehow doubt Begbie will be as excited.

It wouldn’t be a night out ’round here without that simmering atmosphere of could-kick-off-at-any-second violence just below the surface.
My mate lost an eye and half his cheek when he got glassed.

Shit, is this how we’re seen across the pond? It’s a fair cop mind. I myself though, am a gentleman.

I think a Keep Watch eye patch might be in order for penski’s mate.
