You Should be Listening to… Veronica Falls

Just when you thought your brain couldn’t handle anymore fuzzed dream pop along comes Veronica Falls and instantly your eardrums are taken hostage. Veronica Falls hails from jolly ole’ London but judging by the bands haunting and moody melodies there is not much to be jolly about. Not unlike their contemporaries Veronica Falls draw their influence from 60s girl groups and garage rock adding a healthy dose of shoegaze and goth. All of that culminates into insanely catchy pop that lands somewhere between The Smiths and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
In the past couple of years many bands have tried their hand at perfecting this sound, few have accomplished Veronica Falls might not be there yet but if the band keeps producing tracks like their break out “Found Love in a Graveyard” we will be talking about Veronica Falls long after the current Lo-Fi Dream Pop trend falls by the wayside. The band currently has a 7″ out on Brooklyn’s Captured Tracks which you can order from their website.
Unfortunately the band has no American shows scheduled but hopefully we will see them stateside soon. Check out the video above of the band playing “Found Love in a Graveyard” live at Barden’s Bordoir in London.
