Fear of a 12th Planet: Remote Viewing

Some say Planet X is the twelfth planet in our solar system, and a second renaissance of consciousness will overcome humanity when it returns to our orbit. What else is out there? In this new Bloglin segment, we’ll delve into the most provocative theories and findings from the new age. Don’t call them conspiracies…and keep this between us. We don’t want to get tracked down by the New World Order!
Defined as “a mental faculty that allows a perceiver (a “viewer”) to describe or give details about a target that is inaccessible to normal senses due to distance, time, or shielding,” Remote Viewing was of great interest to the C.I.A. during the Cold War. In fact, the U.S. Government established and funded its own Remote Viewing and ESP based program in effort to compete with the already existing psi research being done in the USSR and China. Perhaps we could tap into the paranormal to gather information on the clandestine activities of our Communist villains — nuclear facilities, locations of hostages, etc.
This unit continued under US sponsorship until 1986, when the operational and research arms of the government remote viewing program were combined under the leadership of Defense Intelligence Agency, who renamed the program “Stargate.” In 1995, long after the Cold War was over, the DIA terminated the Remote Viewing program; citing “insufficient evidence of the utility of the intelligence data produced.”
Of course all of this research was kept under wraps until Ted Koppel revealed its existence in a Nightline exposé.

The originator of the psychic ability of Remote Viewing, Ingo Swann was the US Government’s leading agent in this field of espionage. His advanced clairvoyant abilities were first discovered in the early 70′s by Dr. Hal Putoff at the Stanford Research Institution. Putoff is the one responsible for bringing Remote Viewing to the Government’s attention.

Here is a Government document which diagrams a Russian nuclear facility in comparison to a sketch done by Ingo Swann during a Remote Viewing session of the area.
For 20 years, Swann was involved in this program. Why would the US Government participate in research for that long if there was no validity to it? Undoubtedly, when tested using the scientific method, the phenomena of clairvoyance and ESP can’t be reproduced and replicated in a consistent manner — but does that refute its significance as an existing property of the mind?
Swann challenges the scientific method when used to test ESP because of its fundamental attention on physical matter…that which can be only measured by their instruments and equations. But is matter the only reality? Sound too highfalutin?

A 3d model of Dark Matter
What about Dark Matter? What about Dark Energy? It’s hypothesized that the Universe is comprised of only 3-4% physical matter…what about the other 96% that has yet be understood by Science?

An excerpt of “Steven Hawking’s Universe,” on Dark Matter
Is there the possibility of the science of Consciousness which we have yet to discover? Perhaps we’re focusing on the wrong measurements. Though, a 2006 study of mirror neurons may be guiding us a bit closer to understanding the phenomenal dynamics of ESP. New York Times reported on the study in 2006 in an article named, Cells That Can Read Minds.
From the article:
Mirror neurons allow us to grasp the minds of others not through conceptual reasoning but through direct simulation. By feeling, not by thinking.
So if all we can understand about the Universe is 3% of it, how are we to deem what is and is not a valid occurrence within it? We hardly understand 10% of our own brain capabilities! Ingo Swann unequivocally believes ESP and parapsychology to be a legitimate function of the mind. Unexplainable intuition and gut feelings are the minor occurrences living just beneath the surface of what vast psychokinetic powers the mind is truly capable of. What do you believe?

As time goes on, this column is making me increasingly disenchanted with the world / society at large. Which is surprising considering how disenchanted I already was.
We have not even begun to step out of the cave. Fuck, most people don’t even realize they’re in the cave yet. :(

Damn dude, you need a fashion blog to figure all this shit out?

Yeah, I forgot to mention I never went to school and sometimes I play in my own shit. I’m actually mentally retarded and despite being 25 years old, I only realized the world was a cesspool this afternoon when I read this article. Good thing for these informative fashion blogs!!!
