Slaughterhouses, Vampires, and Juggalo Killers… Oh My!

What’s good mishkalos, juggalos, juggahaters, and everything in between? ‘Tis I Kev Buc, coming at you with some interesting tid bits for your tits from this past week concerning all things in the realm of horrorcore and juggalos.

First up is a quick review of the demented duo themselves Twiztid’s Slaughterhouse Tour which kicked off February 18th in Buffalo, New York. I hit up two dates on this tour including one the following week in Clifton Park, New York. I felt this tour was one of the best stage shows I’ve seen them put on ever. I myself have seen Twiztid in concert dozens and dozens of times, dating back to when they first formed and were part of the Juggalo Funhouse Tour with ICP back in 1998. They had a lot of energy, a good stage set, and a really good variety of classics both old and new. The show opened with an up and coming rapper from the Bay Area, California known as Kung Fu Vampire. KFV has never worked with Psychopathic Records before, but was well received at the shows I attended. His sound is pretty unique and he has a full band. I thought the show was very good from top to bottom, but the only problem to me was well… the juggalos.

I’ve noticed especially in the more recent years that attendance to Psychopathic events seems like it’s been over run by all the little mutant Hot Topic kids you see running around the mall. I guess it is what it is, but these kids were clueless when older tracks came over the speakers which dumbfounded me. I guess that all comes full circle though because I’m sure the same people looked at my generation back in ’98 in the same light. If I were you though, I would definitely check out this tour because it’s fucking solid. The NYC stop even got a POSITIVE write up in the New York Times! That in itself is pretty rare for anything Psychopathic puts out to be put over well by the mainstream media. The tour dates are located in the below promo video for said tour. So go return some Faygo cans or some shit and get your ass to the fucking Slaughterhouse!

Next on the agenda; is to touch on the topic a little of horrorcore related murders. This past Monday NBC aired on episode of the popular show Law & Order titled “Steel-Eyed Death”. This episode was based upon a horrorcore/juggalo related murder that happened last fall commited by Richard “Syko Sam” McCroskey. In this episode they portrayed juggalos and horrorcore fans in a VERY negative light. This fan base already is the butt of many jokes and gets looked on poorly in society, but now it’s even put out there for tons of people whom probably never heard of juggalos and will associate all of us as murderers. Well, artists of the genre as PISSED and speaking out against this. Once again, The New York Times spoke out on this particular topic.

The article has links to various myspace pages, twitters, and explains the whole “Syko Sam” murder gimmick, so give that a read to catch up to speed here. I personally don’t have too much of an opinion on this matter besides that it’s pretty shitty, but I’m so used to it anyways. I’d like to see some comments or feedback on this episode, so leave those below.

That’s about it for this jugga-update. Soooooo until next time kiddies, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite artists Mars speaking on the negativity surrounding the culture on the news right after the “Syko Sam” murders. Woop x 2…
