This past Friday was round 2 of HARD NYC featuring the return of Major Lazer this time accompanied by Boys Noize, fellow mopsters Buraka Som Sistema and Proxy.

Terminal 5 was once again bleeding with 17 year old candy ravers scantily clad (the girls at least) and out of their minds. Unfortunately I missed Proxy’s set but I heard he had the crowds really revved up early and when I arrived Buraka was already on the set stylin’ and playing a variety of genres that seemed to please the youngens very much.
Kalaf (above) and Conductor (below) were hyping the crowd into a frenzy with a mixture of Portuguese and English hype which was not an issue for the anyone when it came to call and response.
Kalaf was in NYC the whole week and had time to party with us a few times and style out his crew in our Spring ’10 collection.
Birthday boy Joao JWOW (right) and Rui Riot (left) were very pleased with the view at the end of their set as they had a couple of lovely carnival dancers shakin’ their stuff on the stage to some heavy tropical and dubstep sounds which were really embraced by new party goers alongside tropical sounding house and techno.
Next up, the son of Major Lazer… I really appreciate when fans go the extra mile to show their support.
This time the worldwide sensation, Major Lazer had Trini Chris on the mic but were missing Switch. They organized an amazing show with featured three Chinese dragons on stage and a real karate frenzy featuring Skerrit Boy who had to put the daggering on pause for a while to take care of some bad guys!
JOTS had told me that Ace of Base would make the crowd go nuts, but ultimately the track that blew the lid off T5 was The Bloody Beetroots‘ “Warp”. Boys Noize closed the night with a selection from his BNR label that kept the crowd high ’til 2am.
