Love Sex Fear Death in NYC Tonight!
Tonight’s the night, the release party for our Мишка x Feral House: The Process Church of the Final Judgment Collection! Ourselves and the guys from Chronic Youth have pulled all the stops for this party and it’s going to be a wild and sinister time!
Since this is all out celebration of the Process Church we’ve brought in Genesis Breyer P-Orridge to host the evening and gotten the amazing Sabbath Assembly to perform some of the rites and music of the Process Church to get you all crazy for a full evening of “Grave Wavers” like Passions, White Ring and of course Blessure Grave. This is one event you don’t want to miss! Head over after the jump for more information on all of the acts performing.

Headlining the evening is San Diego’s Blessure Grave, a band you’ve I’m sure heard a lot about here on the Bloglin and probably elsewhere. The modern standard for goth/death rock, this will be Blessure Grave’s first ever show in New York City…hell it’s their first show on the East Coast! I know there are loads of anxious fans out here who have been patiently waiting to see the band perform and like the impending apocalypse, that day is finally approaching!
Anchored by T. Grave and Reyna K, It’s been a busy couple of years for the band who have been at the forefront of what we’re lovingly calling the “Grave Wave” movement. They’ve had countless 7-inch releases, an EP on Captured Tracks and earlier this year, the band released their debut full-length, Judged by 12, carried by 6. But they’re not stopping there! The band has plans for even more 7-inches this year, I believe another full length and they will be casting their dark cloud over Europe later this Fall.
You’ve been warned!

New York’s own White Ring will be bringing some of their dark and atmospheric Witch House to the evening as well. with only a handful of songs and a split 7-inch with fellow Witch Housers oOoOO to their name, White Ring has been getting a lot of very deserved attention lately and we’re thrilled to have the duo part of the evening’s bill.
If White Ring’s name sound familiar to you Bloglin faithful it’s because they were a recently featured on one of our You Should be Listening to… segments. Well you not only should be listening to them, but seeing them cast their seductive spell live. The band has an EP planned to come later this year on the always impressive Disaro, which many are eagerly awaiting.

Rounding out the bands for the evening is the newest project from our long time friend Ben Deitz. Passions has been describe by Pitchfork as the “darkest of dark-wave, blending minor-key tones with ghostly vocals and drum machines to evoke eerie atmospherics.” And you know what? I can’t argue with that description.
The above clip is Passions at their first live performance a couple one month ago at Brooklyn’s Legion. I’ve been fortunate to watch and listen to Ben unfold this project before me and it’s absolutely fantastic! It’s gone from remixes for the likes of The Teenagers and Fischerspooner to a full fledged band. I expect nothing but huge things from Passions and those of you in attendance on June 1st will be getting in the ground floor of what will be one hyped band come soon!
Passions recently released a stellar self-titled EP on Disaro and crafted the excellent Music Without Tears mix for us back in 2009! You all should really download it like right now if you haven’t!

Opening the evening is The Sabbath Assembly, a modern troupe who perform the hymns and ceremonies of The Process Church of the Final Judgment. The group features Dave Nuss who some of you may know from the No Neck Blues band and vocalist Jex Thoth who has worked on various Wooden Wand projects. The Sabbath Assembly have garnered wide acclaim for their performances which have featured Lydia Lunch and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge everywhere from Stereogum to Art Forum.
The Process Church… the original Apocalyptic Folk movement! This is going to be areal trip to see live having The Sabbath Assembly do their thing is just icing on the cake of an already intense evening. I’m actually really curious to see the crowd for this event ever since the Sabbath Assembly was added to the bill!

And finally your host for the evening…The incomparable Genesis Breyer P-Orridge! A living legend in the world of performance art and music. I have absolutely no clue what he has planned for the evening, but his presence alone in a room just makes things exciting and electric!
In addition to all of this, Star Eyes will be spinning between sets, along with myself and Mike Dextro (as Baryshnikov). We’ll make sure to keep things dark and witchy all evening long between the bands. Download Star Eyes and Dust La Rock’s recent Ov Curse mix for Мишка and the recent Baryshnikov: White Nights mix also done for Мишка to get yourself all in the mood for the evening!
