Lamour Supreme & Twerps!: The Art of the Boryoku Genjin!

My Pal the Crook wrote in his recap of the Coop show (at 350 Broadway) that Lamour Supreme and I were piggybacking on his show… But the reality is is that Coop begged us to put up our work along with his. If it were left to me, I would have left my bootleg pencil drawings in the confines of my messy office.

The above piece by Lamour Supreme, is the inked final used as the back header card for the NagNagNag’s Raw Power version of the Boryoku Genjin. Those of you wondering what the hell Boryoku Genjin means, well it loosely translates into “Violent Caveman.”

Lamour and I first started working on header cards together with the release of our own Adfunture Bootleg Kaiju figure. I had this idea for the header card art and Lamour suggested that I draw it. But I was like, “huh? Why would I draw it? You should draw it.” But Lamour was insistent and convinced me to do the pencils and then he would go in and handle the inks.

Lamour is able to go over my pencils and create something really original and a little off. A perfect marriage of our styles. This piece above is for the pencil sketch of the inked lead image.

This is the finished artwork for our very first Mishka x NagNagNag release. As soon as I saw the figure in person I got an idea for the header card artwork right away. I really wanted an image of the Violent Caveman severing a women in half with his toxic shit.

And well, as you can see above, my dream was realized! She not only  looks like she’s enjoying it, but business suit Jason looks like he enjoys watching it happen!

This is the back of that header card. I created the back  composition referencing a bunch of old pulp horror comic. Lamour then took my ideas and applied all of the ink and colors, making this piece too hot to handle, to cold to hold.

This one has a very vintage Japanese Horror Manga vibe to it, both in style and color scheme.

This is my original pencil sketch and the final header card for the second Violent Caveman release that Lamour and I worked on. This one wasn’t actually a Мишка collaboration though. NagNagNag just really wanted us to do the header card art for it. This ended being a Nag+3 (limited to just 3 pieces) that was based on Barom-1 villian Frankenruge.

You can really see here how Lamour takes my sketches and brings them to life. Had he started the illustration from scratch I don’t think these would have the same effect… But then again, maybe that’s just me.

This is my original pencil sketch for the back of that very header card. As you can see it’s very rough and loose collection of monsters, mutants and demons. The final inked and colored version looks a lot better! Ha!

The final version should of been at the show but the reason that its not is there are so many sketches and different versions if we would have framed everything there would have been no room left for COOP!

This is the original ink for the header card of the Firestarter Version (+3) of the Boryoku Genjin. Lamour actually did this one all by himself.  Well he claims that I did a sketch of Keith Flint, but I honestly don’t remember ever doing one.

Then again we have a lot of drunk sketch sessions late at night in the office and I can’t always be sure of everything that comes out of me during those.

This here is the back of that Firestarter header card. Once again done entirely by Lamour. A Star Wars Scout Trooper riding a Battleship Yamato from StarBlazers. Lamour told me he loved this show as a kid! He is old, so I have no clue what he is talking about! Unfortunately this particular piece is not for sale, but people were asking about it all night.

All of the other work however is for sale over at 350 Broadway for a very reasonable price. Here’s your chance to own an original Twerps!, Lamour Supreme or Twerps/Lamour Supreme before those prices go up 100 times! Own a piece of history, or at least buy it so I have some money to spend on more toys!

To be honest, I rather enjoy the concept of noxious feces, and Business Suit Jason’s fetish for pain.
