//TENSE// is one of my absolute favorite bands on the planet today and this week was their first ever show in NYC where they tore the house down at NY’s preeminent dark dance party, Wierd this past Wednesday night.

//TENSE// hails from Houston, Texas and is at the forefront of a small handful of bands resurrecting the throbbing dance sounds of EBM (Electronic Body Movement). With sawtooth strikes and militaristic rhythms, Bobby and Marianna will hopefully be leading a new generation to “Join in the Chant.”

Before their show, the band dropped by the shop for a bit and then headed out to grab some lunch where we spent most of our time talking about work, music and why they should get a Twitter account. I also told Bobby he needed to download and here Haujobb’s Solutions For a Small Planet, the last EBM masterpiece of the 90s. Something you should go ahead and pick-up as well!

If //TENSE// are playing in your town you should go see them! They’re amazing live. Unlike most electronic outfits who hid behind their equipment, //TENSE// is front and center, in your face giving you an aerobic workout.
