Store Spotting: Warriors of the Wavves, Kings of the Beach!
You see those dudes up there? Those dudes went and recorded one of 2010′s most addictive and fun albums… Hell they raised the bar so high on this, their third album that it may even be one of this decade’s most fun album when it’s all said and done. And if you still have no clue who I’m talking about, and the title of this post wasn’t a dead giveaway, it’s Wavves and King of the Beach has swept us up in its undercurrent.
After playing to a sold out crowd at the Knitting Factory last week, Nathan, Stephen and Billy from the band, joined by Robbie and their tour manager Dayn dropped by 350 Broadway to say what’s up and grab some new gear. Maybe you’ve noticed that Nathan’s been photographed everywhere with a Death Adders cap in support of the new album? Maybe not? I sure as hell have posted enough about it on here that I’d hope you would have.
King of the Beach is already causing some major discussion and debate… that’s spilled from various forums and even into our own comments section. I know where I stand, and I also know anything causing such a huge reaction is bonafide to get heard, and I mean really heard. And hell it’s still a month away from officially being released on vinyl with no official videos out yet! King of the Beach comes out digitally on July 1st, get psyched!!! Me thinks this is going to be one of the year’s biggest and best releases.
Wavves are currently wrapping up a short US tour and heading out to Europe in the middle of July for another short tour. You’d be smart to catch them if you can. Head to their Myspace for dates.
