Red, White & Brews 4th of July Mega-Recap Pt. 1!
Red, White & Brews 4th of July Gallery Pt. 1
Ok as promised here are a bunch of photos from our 4th of July party at the Water Taxi Beach. A big thanks to Etnies, The CBLDF and of course Seen for whom this was an official launch party for helping not only make this possible but as big of an event as it turned out to be.
There were a few Thousand people coming in and out of the party across it’s massive 12 hour span! How do I know? Because some unlucky intern got handed the job of keeping count! They’ll never mess up my coffee order again… or will they? hmmm…
As always there were loads of ladies enjoying the tunes, the sun and the sand! There’s our pal and stylist Valissa Yoe on the far left and what about the gal who’s second from the right? No? Shame on you!
That too cool for school beauty is our friend Nadja Violetta, a hair stylist/make-up artist who stole the show in our Summer 2010 lookbook! Nadja is also opening her own salon in Brooklyn shortly to keep you all as glamorous as she is.
Man did The Death Set rip shit up! They were all over the place and had the crowd going absolutely insane! Moshing, puncturing beach balls, pouring beers on one another. These dudes won my heart by closing their set with a killer cover of Nirvana’s “Territorial Pissings.” Gotta find a way, a better way, betteeerrr waaait!
If these dudes are playing in your town, drop all of your plans that night and go see them. It’ll be worth it, trust me.
Roofeo not only played with the Death Set, he backed Ninjasonik‘s set and DJed part of the day… dude was a real trooper! The crowd was going absolutely bananas the whole afternoon and he was a large reason why.
It was a smoldering hot day and I swear to you each and every DJ and performer coming on seemed to add an extra 10 degrees to the temperature. Luckily I don’t think the crowd seemed to bothered by it.
Here’s our main man and Italian dance heavyweight, Congorock! Rocco was in town for his own huge party the following night at Governer’s Island with the legendary Benny Benassi, Bart B More and the lovely Roxy Cottontail.
I didn’t make it to the show because I was at Faith No More that night, but I heard that it was pretty fucking epic! I can’t say I’m surprised though.
Here’s Beach Fossils who were fucking killer running through a set of songs off their debut self-titled LP. Their jangly brand of pop was the perfect soundtrack to a sun setting over the Manhattan. If you haven’t heard or picked up their album yet, I strongly recommend you do. It’s out now via Captured Tracks.
This is just a taste of the images from the event. head over to the full Gallery and get immersed! Tomorrow we’ll post part two, which will be another 40 or so some odd pics from the day. And don’t forget that Seen was conducting a photobooth at the party. We’ll post about that as soon as those are ready to go live.
