Choice Is Yours Vol. 87: Internal Affairs vs. Things Fall Apart

Pharoahe Monch - Internal Affairs (1999)
Vs.

The Roots – Things Fall Apart (1999)
The Game is simple… if only one could exist which would it be? What’s more important… personal relevance, cultural significance, or simply being the better album all other things aside? Choice is yours…

How man of y’all are actually familiar with Internal Affairs? I have to agree with the person who said Things Fall Apart is probably more consistent through out, but when Monch hits on Internal Affairs (which is often enough) it’s really like nothing else.

Worldwide, get the fuck up!

Things Fall Apart was definitely the more innovate album.
Mos Def, Jazzy Jeff, Schooly D, Jay Dilla, and Erykah Badu were all envolved
not to mention QuestLove on percussion.
Internal Affairs was explicitly hardcore… but not very cutting-edge.

So… hard… to choose.
I have to give the Roots the edge on this one for landmarking in terms of innovation, and talent packed on the album…
however, I’m still bumpin’ Internal Affairs more often. Not sayin’ Things fall Apart doesn’t have that long term replay factor but what would you rather listen to first thing on a weekday morning? “You got me” or “Simon Says”?
Get the fuck up! Girls rub on your titties!
