While, granted, the landscape of music has changed over the past few years with artists choosing to distribute their own music, like-minded individuals starting their own labels to push their musical aesthetic forward, and the rise of digital media over CDs, none has been so instantaneous as the advent of Twitter.

A couple of months ago, Grime/Eski founding father, Wiley (@OFFICIALWILEY), publicly fired his manager and set free over 200 vocal and instrumental cuts in a massive purge of 11 zip files which you can collect right here!

Joining in the giveaway as of late is grime super-producer, Terror Danjah (@TerrorDanjah), who just followed three releases this year by throwing out a stack of 20 instrumental mp3s called Hardstrumentals all zipped up and ready to be devoured (though your eardrums might feel it’s the other way around).

But before Terror Danjah did that he also offered up giveaway earlier of his 2007 compilation, Shock to the System. Go grab both!

Not limited to just production, you’ve also got the likes of 2000F & J Kamata, who had one of the largest tunes of last year with “You Don’t Know What Love Is” on Hyperdub. The two are finally showcasing their DJ chops with nothing less than an EPIC 9-hour mix that jumps from genre to genre and somehow remains cohesive.

And, you’ve got the mysterious powerhouse that is SALEM dropping yet another dragged-out, druggy, screwed-up and screwed-down mixtape which always is seemingly greater than its parts and seems much longer than its runtime. Go grab I Buried My Heart Inna Wounded Knee and start the preparing for Salem’s debut album, King Night out in September.

One could get into the politics of management and big labels and contracts and how business affects and/or limits artistic expression, but I’ll save that for the PhD candidates. In the end, we’ve all still just been given a bunch of great free music, so enjoy it.
