Video Recap: The Occultist Sounds of King Dude @ 350 Broadway!

Last week we hosted our first ever in-store performance by Seattle’s King Dude, the new solo neo-folk project from T.J. Cowgill of Black Metal band, Book of Black Earth and clothing line, Actual Pain. It was dark and intimate affair, where we lit candles and enjoyed T.J. sing his dark hymnals with about 40 or 50 other people.

Our own The Vidiot was set up in the corner to capture the entire performance, which we’re pleased to now share with everyone who couldn’t attend. Kick back this labor day and enjoy this 20 or so minute set of dark and haunting tunes broken across these two videos.

On a humorous and odd side note, T.J.’s performance actually cost us a pretty damn good intern because he felt we had just crossed a line into the occult he was uncomfortable to be around. Y0u listen for yourself and be the judge… I personally find songs about werewolves, ghosts and black triangles to be beautiful. But then again I also sacrifice a goat every Winter solstice.

Once you’re done with these clips head over to Vice where the Toilet Cobra did a short video interview with King Dude at our shop after the performance. King Dude is indeed the King Dude!
