Мишка Presents Radio Friendly Unit Shifter III by Nick Catchdubs & Mr. Ducker
Мишка presents Nick Catchdubs & Mr Ducker: Radio Friendly Unit Shifter III by Мишка Bloglin
This sick, sad world cheated us out of Wayne’s World 3 and another season of Twin Peaks. But Nick Catchdubs and Mr. Ducker more than make up for it with the third edition of their Radio Friendly Unit Shifter mix series presented by Мишка, a loving tribute to ’90s alt rock in all of its fuzz-boxed, slack-rapped, gloriously sloppy permutations. Like its predecessors (Radio Friendly Unit Shifter and Radio Friendly Unit Shifter ’09), RFUS III is a seamless, shameless party mix weaving together the likes of Rollins Band, the Rentals and Rocket From the Crypt – and that’s just the Rs!
Fool’s Gold honcho Nick Catchdubs keeps it infinitely fun and thoroughly unpredictable on the decks while Mr. Ducker piles on the pop culture extras that have made the RFUS mixes beloved by the inner Clinton-era teenager in everyone. Grab some Scooby Snacks and swing on the flippity flop with the dynamic duo once again.
Nick Catchdubs & Mr. Ducker’s Radio Friendly Unit Shifter has become one of our most popular mix series and office favorites for good reason. So without further adieu, get out your favorite flannel, tattered Pearl Jam tee and slack off like it’s high school all over again with some choice cuts from the decade where every band truly sold out and we eagerly bought in. Snoogins! Tracklist after the jump.

How awesome is the transition where the “In Bloom” vocal track flows with Portishead?

Crook…right there with you. That’s the album highlight for me.
Question: wasn’t there supposed to be an accompanying zine with this one? I remember hearing something about that but maybe I imagined it?

@Hateball
…Uh yeah, there was supposed to be a zine. I’m still working on it, but like all authentic zines, life got in the way.

@MR.: Thanks for the clarification. Life has a way of doing that. You’re keeping it TOO real now. :)

Love this but I have a question: is there a way to listen to it as a continuous mix? In iTunes, there’s a brief pause between tracks that kills the fluidity. Is it posted anywhere as one mp3 file?
Thanks.

Mikey K: It is a continuous Mix and has no pauses between tracks. I think you have a problem with the settings in your iTunes and not the actual mix itself.

I think Miley K is saying that it would be super-sweet if all 3 mixes were available as one big track instead of being split (roughly) into individual songs. Although it is mixed and seamless, I get a fraction of second of dead space between tracks when playing it.
Really looking forward to giving III a listen today. Thanks.
