This brand new video for Suckers is very much a family affair. If you don’t already know, Brian AKA Pan from Suckers used to work (occasionally he still does) for Мишка. He was actually our first ever full time employee handling design and production for us between 2006 and 2009. Pan has since moved on to pursue the rock star lifestyle ever since his band started blowing up late last year.

Pan even partook in Stereogum’s Quit Your Day Job column in May of ’09 talking about what it is like working over here for the fork-tongued grizzly overlords.

About a month ago Suckers started premiering videos for their single “A Mind I Knew.” Each member of the band set out a few months back to shoot their own videos for the track. Each week a different member’s video premiered somewhere on the internet. Go check out Quinn, Austin, Brian and Pan’s video (which is below) of the original track…

Today it all culminates with a final 5th video for the song which is for a remix titled “A Mind Less Known” (see top of this post). This House and Balearic happy remix of the track was done by Baryshnikov… which just so happens to be myself and my old childhood friend, the very talented producer and DJ Mike Dextro.

AND… to keep it even more in the family, this whole slime time video was directed by Matthew Caron AKA Yr Friend Matthew AKA The Vidiot and shot by cinematographer, Chris Person. It’s all one big incestuous and homoerotic family affair round these parts 24/7. The slow-motion video brings to mind You Can’t Do That on Television and Double Dare, and sticks to the “Who doesn’t love slime?” policy we like to adhere to over at Мишка. Matt even wrote this fantastic article on Vice about having to clean the disgusting bathroom over at the Silent Barn to use for shooting this video. I’m sure all of you budding young directors never considered these much less glorious (and less fun) aspects to the craft.
