Over the past 2 years, Pictureplane has been attempting to alter the reality of the world at large with a set of social experiments, which he refers to as “Dimensional Rips.” Each of these rips have taken various forms: art zines, performance pieces uploaded to YouTube, songs, or even entire art exhibitions.

These “rips” all function as the same idea and same work of art each time, inevitable providing a magical platform for social change. No matter how large or small the response of these projects, their presumable “change” is relative – consequently, tearing through one dimension to the next.

The sixth and most recent exhibit of his Dimensional Rips comes in the form of a mix made of slowed down and transformed happy hardcore, rave, and jungle tunes. Slowing down the tracks’ originally calculated at 170-180bpm to the neighborhood of 125bpm, the sound elicits moods of both dark and light. Seems only fitting from the man who coined “Witch House”, no?
