Odd Future Demolish Jimmy Fallon; Did Middle America Freak?
Did you forget that Odd Future were on Jimmy Fallon last night? I sure did! But then again I don’t really watched the show so I’m not in the habit to flip to it past midnight. Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy Beats performed “Sandwhiches” with the help of The Roots. The track got some minor lyrical editing and Wolf Gang (can they still be a gang if there’s only two present?) bounced around the stage and set like madmen, which is pretty much what we were all hoping for. Sadly the first guest that night, Forest Whitaker was no longer sitting on the couch so we couldn’t catch his reaction to Tyler’s antics. But he did seem to freak out Felicia Day…whoever she is (I don’t watch Eureka Ok? Who does?)
This performance was actually pretty representative of what Odd Future are like live, as anyone who was at Santos on Tuesday night can attest to. You’ll be hard pressed to find a Hop Hop show with half the amount of energy OFWGKTA bring. But the real question is what did your *Hannibal Lectar voice* cousin Becky in Nebraska think of her first taste of some Rape, Murder and Swag? I guess that depends on how closely anyone was paying attention to the lyrics, which given their stage antics may have been pretty hard unless you already knew them.

having been there i will say that it was ridiculous. mos was running through the audience screaming “SWAG” at what was primarily a bunch of 30-40 somethings who had no clue wtf was going on. but tyler saw the small group of us fans going nuts (we all were screaming “free earl” through the entire telecast) and made a point to come back out after the show was over and greet all of us/say thank you. he and hodgy were nothing but awesome. mad respect for OFWGKTA

Everything about this performance is fucking amazing. I wish I could express my dull brain through my fat fingers how fucking outstanding / creepy / spellbinding Odd Future is.

I don’t know. It didn’t come across as creepy. Just trying really really mega hard to be creepy. The Ring escapee didn’t help matters. I had the same reaction to her as when the backup dancer for the Mighty Mighty Bostones does his “thing”

Felicia Day was on Strangers with Candy. Please tell me you watched that. She’s on Adult Swims Eagleheart currently.
