Store Spotting: The American Ninja… Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire!
New, weird, emcee on the block, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, swept the Brooklyn store this week in faithful O.G. manner, decked out from head to toe in his own grade of bling. eXquire has stayed rockin’ Мишка, peep the Keep Watch Good Wood rope peeking through layers of authentic Afro-neckwear, and now it’s our pleasure to have his back. The New York-based rapper has been turning shit upside-down as of late, passed around the internet like a tightly-rolled Phillie laced with untainted truth (check his feature on the Bloglin), and even toting a spot in Complex Magazine’s Best Songs of 2011 (So Far).
It’s safe to say Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire is the real deal, leaving hordes of ravenous listeners in his wake just starving for something authentic and lively to sink their teeth into. His single “Huzzah” from the forthcoming Lost in Translation is a dope song that possesses the listener with quirky humor and rich, uncut flows, sounding kinda like an unreleased Wu-Tang track while making mention of one of his influences, can you say a Мишка coaches jacket circa 2007. Don’t even think about sleeping on eX, he’ll dropkick your ass like, the American Ninja himself, Michael Dudikoff.
You can catch Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire goin’ in for all the locals with a performance at Williamsburg’s Public Assembly tonight. Miss this and you’ll be mentally flogging yourself for weeks to come.
