Mykki Blanco’s Long Wigs and Cosmic Truths

Poet, artist, and accomplished cross dresser Mykki Blanco is an integral part of New York’s quickly rising gay rap scene. This cosmic angel already has a book of poetry out, From The Silence of Duchamp, and Blanco’s new mixtape should be dropping any minute now. Featuring production from Nguzunguzu, Arca (who’s ill new EP, Baron Libre, you can download here), and more, I’m waiting for it to set the internet aflame.

For a preview of some of Blanco’s surprisingly vicious flows, check out this new video done by Glasnost NYC, following Mykki to Harlem, the subway, the cruelty of high schoolers, and beyond. Watch as she converts a bunch of mouthy preteens to her cause, goes wig shopping, wear an incredible anime inspired jacket, and break down the gay rap game. Blanco is the truth!
