I first heard Austin Texas rapper Spz Chaote on Noah23′s Occult Trill 2 and immediately was hooked with his esoteric style and large vocabulary. Since then I’ve actually become friends with him and recently he let me hear his new projects he has been working on, and let me tell you it’s about time for people to quit sleeping on this guy. Each one of his new releases are going to be much different from one another.
His plan is that each one of his new projects will showcase all the different styles he is capable of and he definitely does not want to be put in a category as any certain “type” of rapper. The ill thing when you listen to Spz is you really feel like you are learning something because he spits verses with a lot of substance. Sometimes his raps give me the feeling he knows something the rest of us don’t know but then again I guess that is why he is here to tell us the final secret of the Illuminati anyways.
“The Final Secret of the Illuminati” is produced by Finland based J Kwama, who’s beats are super legit, and really pay homage to the golden era of hip hop. Spz’s lyrics are insane on this tape and I had to listen to it four or five times just to really get a grip on what he is saying. Spz is a deep person and it really comes across in his raps, with tracks like “Politrickin”, its apparent this guy is no dummy. He also has some real dope guests on here as well with Modulok on the track “Arc of the Covenant” and Baracuda on “Rap Tyrants” and they are a perfect fit.
These guys are straight spitting knowledge on here. Something else I noticed is the quality on here is some of the best I’ve heard out of the underground wave lately and this is thanks to the homie Toy Trains , who really did a great job mastering it. Also shout out to to the fam and fellow NuGod SdotPdot for the cover art as well with Austin skyline sitting amongst the ancient pyramids. Be on the lookout for a lot more from Spz in the near future because he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve including a project fully produced by Party Trash that I’m really looking forward to.
