Have you listened to the new Mountain Goats album Transcendental Youth yet? Because you really should, immediately, because it’s excellent. But don’t take my word for it, watch this pretty/scary video for standout track “Cry For Judas” (which really shows off the lush brass section John Darnielle recruited for the album). For some reason it just reminds me of an Atom Egoyan movie.

It’s also got a girl child playing drums in her garage with the band name “Iscariot Rising” printed on the kick, which is pretty much as untenable a name as the immortal Satans Fingers, The Hospital Bombers, or The Killers (though I suppose that one ended up getting refuted. Speaking of Satan, he makes an appearance here too. Just watch.
