Petite Noir Is Under Pressure

South African musician Petite Noir has been coming out with cool video after cool video lately and that’s awesome. His latest video for “Pressure” is a pretty solemn, minimal video. But, there are some very wild images in this. The use of black and white is really striking and there are a lot of shots of strange things like a mysterious black goo dripping from a tree, and dead animal heads in someones house that kind of glare at us viewers.

And then things get REALLY trippy at the end when it seems Petite Noir has been teleported into the Psychedelic stuff he and his friends were watching on TV. Psychedelic images swirling around in black and white is pretty interesting. It’s just a grayish mass of stuff which, if it were in color, would be a lot more trippy and less creepy. The song is another solid New Wave inspired dark jam by Noir with a haunting bassline and Petite Noir’s voice echoes intensely like he’s calling out from a cave or something singing out “do you love me?” out to the world.
