Underground Mexican Electronic From Maligna
Maligna is a new electronic record label based in Mexico City, and for their first release they decided to put together a very special compilation. Negative Youth is 11 tracks from 11 different Mexican artists, and stands as their interpretations of their home country in song. According to Maligna,
“Due to the dark times through which the country spends, most artists gave us mournful tracks showing a generation tired and sick of seeing their country go to hell. Tired of mediocrity, injustice and abuse of power by a corrupt government. Although not everyone had pessimistic collaborations, all involved recognized the situation and some even suggested how to fight. Others simply chose to represent what they know and live.”
Certainly sounds like a thoughtful and conscientious way to launch a label, and the quality of songs (including tracks from people like Teehn Bwitches and Ritualz) reflects the strength of the project.
