You Don’t Have To Imagine A World w/ New Alexander Heir Art
We were stoked to put on our friend Alexander Heir when he opened his debut solo show, Visions of Death, at 350 Broadway this Spring. We were already familiar with his work because of his brand Death/Traitors, and sufficed to say his striking prints did not disappoint. He’s got a new show opening up at the Klughaus Gallery in Chinatown this Friday night, and you should definitely go see it between then and it’s closing on November 2nd.
Endless War in an Imaginary World features “prints, paintings, and ephemera” and “addresses the contradiction of daily life in a crushing, violent world and the pursuit of inner peace and spirituality in society that values neither. Drawing from the honesty of punk rock, the obtuse symbolism of the occult, and the expressive line work of Eastern art, his newest work acknowledges that this world may only be a mirage created by the universe to observe itself.” In addition to the art, there will also be a pop-up shop selling the two newest collections of Death/Traitors.
