Brooklyn’s Joey Bada$$ continues to ride the high off of his increasingly impressive 1999 mixtape. While it sounded great fresh out the box, it’s a true test of an album whether you find yourself returning to it, and I know that I’ve still been spinning 1999 up. “Fromdatomb$” is apparently the last video he will release from the tape, and it’s a good choice with good execution.

Acknowledging his ability to relive a style of rap gone by without clumsily imitating it, the video is styled as if shot and edited on VHS, while Joey and fellow Pro Era member Chuck Strangers lay a calm and collected waste to the beat.
