Sirah – Up And Down [Video Premiere]
They’ve had that peanut butter and jelly in one jar swirl thing for the longest time, yet most of us still make our sandwiches with two separate jars. Logically, we should all have that swirl stuff in our fridges. The separate peanut butter and jelly industries should have been ruined, but I’ve yet to see that stuff anywhere outside of the grabby hands of lil kids in a supermarket. Musically, the marriage of pop music and dubstep is a logical mixture that should also be a game changer. Dubstep is the peanut butter—very tough and hearty—while pop music is like the sweet jelly, that’s two tastes that go great together. This new track from Sirah, “Up and Down” is like an expert level made PB&J sandwich, think Iron Chef: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Battle. There’s some Skrillex cosigned wobble for everyone who likes brolic ass Dubstep (she appeared on his last album) and then some sweet vocals on the chorus, so the song gets stuck in your head and rides with you throughout the day. Sirah, also throws in some rapping on top, which is kind of like adding marshmallow fluff to your PB&J sandwich, not wholly necessary, but sometimes you gotta embrace the impulse driven 3 year old that lives inside you.
