Code Orange Kids Are The Perfect Hardcore Band
Damn, a band of eighteen year olds from Pittsburgh making real dirty, fast and angry hardcore in the vein of Trap Them, Converge, and Trash Talk—could there be a better combination of genre, location, and age? Maybe a group of 65 year olds from Miami making wild lounge music about accepting death? How about, forty year old gay dudes from San Francisco making homogrunge (new genre I just made up)? Nah, some lil kids from Park Slope making wild luxury rap, talking about how their nannies got nannies?
Yeah, that would be ill, and roughly equivalent to how hard this song “Flowermouth” from Code Orange Kids are. Plus these dudes have a drummer that sings, and a woman that fronts the band, which is two squares checked off on the list of “things that don’t affect the music, but make hardcore bands extra awesome”.
Get Love Is Love // Return To Dust from Deathwish Records.

Its ok. A good mix of sludge, and faster parts. I like it for what it is.
